AT LANDIS COMMUNITIES


Dementia Friendly is a global movement that began in the UK and now spans all 50 U.S. states, equipping communities to better support people living with dementia and their care partners.

n 2024, Teffi e Landmann, COTA/L, Director of Dementia Friendly Experience for Landis Homes, became a certifi ed Dementia


Friends Champion through Dementia Friends Pennsylvania. She has since integrated the work of the global movement into Landis Communities education eff orts. T is includes adding Dementia Friends Pennsylvania content to the required two- hour Positive Approach to Care® (PAC) training for all new hires. To date, more than 215 new Dementia Friends have been welcomed, including 38 from a recent open session at Landis Homes.


Teffi e’s involvement also extends into the community. She has led caregiver sessions at partner sites and participates in monthly Dementia Friendly Lancaster Action Team meetings. Additionally, she mentors new Dementia Friends Champions as they plan their own sessions. Recently, Pennsylvania surpassed 25,000 Dementia Friends, thanks in part to reporting from Landis Homes, refl ecting the ripple eff ect of this work.
