Hydro International wins five- year contract withAnglian Water


Hydro International is pleased to announce the awardof Anglian Water’s Framework to maintain Inlet Screens andScreenings handling equipment. The five-year agreement, with the potential to extendfor a further three years, started1st January 2021 and is being delivered by Hydro International’s UK Wastewater Services team,M&NElectrical Services.


The M&N team first began working with Anglian Water in 2005 to maintain a few key screen assets. The new award sees the M&N team act as Anglian Water’s Primary Supplier, providing a planned preventive maintenance (PPM) programme to Anglian Water’s selected critical fleet of Water and Water Recycling assets with further remit to inspect, report, service, repair and refurbish screens and associated equipment across their region.


As part of the PPM programme the M&N team expect to undertake over 3,700 site visits a year, servicing circa 850 assets within the Anglian Water region. The team also provide a 365/24/7 call-out facility to ensure emergency breakdowns are attended, actioned and assets returned to service as soon as possible.


Anglian Water Service Contracts Manager Anthony Brittain commented: “I have the highest regard for the professionalism and delivery culture that exists within M&N. We have a long-standing relationship with the


team and they have repeatedly demonstrated their reliability to the continued success of our operations. They have been instrumental in assisting us with implementing strong cost avoidance strategies and ensuring our asset maintenance programme keeps assets available and working at optimum capacity.”

Anglian Water supplies Water and Water Recycling services to more than six million customers in the East of England and Hartlepool across an area of 11,000 square miles, making it the largest provider (geographically) in England and Wales.


Hydro International has over four decades of experience in delivering products and services, helping regulators, water companies, developers and contractors to deliver effective wastewater, industrial and stormwater management projects. Wavin launches handy hack series revealing tricks of the trade


Wavin, a leading supplier of pipe systems andsolutions, has launcheda series of hack videos, giving insightful tips on how its products can be used to help plumbers tackle tricky jobs. The collection of nine short videos is presented by Steve Harris, technical support engineer at Wavin, who has worked on the tools for more than 20 years.


The first three videos feature handy Wavin Hep2O products, including the HepKey Plus and HepTool. Steve demonstrates how these small, easy to use products can help plumbers

demount fittings in tight and out of reach spaces using just one hand. Steve also shares his useful tips on using Blanking Pegs to identify different pipes while on the job.


The series also provides useful plumber hacks for Wavin Osma products, including Flexi Pan Connectors, which are a great alternative to the standard 90˚ and 45˚ bends which can be tough to fit into tight spaces behind a toilet. The Flexi Waste Pipe is also featured, and Steve shows how this product can be used with a range of adaptors.
