MAIN FEATURE

demonstrates its dedication to up-keeping vehicle safety, efficiency and environmental protection. In addition, the company has invested heavily in driver training. To ensure that knowledge and skills remain at the highest level, Keyline drivers are required to complete a number of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses each year, further supporting site safety.

Leading merchants should constantly be looking at ways to make improvements to ensure safe and efficient deliveries. For example, Keyline’s own delivery service allows it to understand all delivery requirements, restrictions and any site hazards ahead of time, which helps to improve efficiency and time

spent on site. In addition, strong communication detailing what is being delivered and when vehicles will arrive, allows site agents to plan their days knowing they can trust that their delivery will be on time and include what they need, when they need it.

An example of collaborative working is the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme. Having previously worked with numerous contractors involved in this large- scale project, Keyline was invited to tender and was subsequently chosen as the preferred supplier of civils and drainage products for this project.

Keyline provided in-depth project support and coordinated the supply of all civils and drainage products for this £1.5 billion Highways England scheme. It provided full project management and logistics for the supply of these materials, which over the course of the three-and-a-half- year project totalled approximately £15 million. This included more than 100 miles of drainage products, 1.8 million square metres of geotextiles and 3,700 units of municipal castings.
