MAIN FEATURE
Series petrol jetter in a stack configuration to reduce and distribute weight. The jetter has a dry weight of approximately 300kg and uses a low-noise 37HP Briggs and Stratton Vanguard EFi V-Twin Petrol engine producing 3000psi at 12GPM. Based on the standard van-pack jetter, it’s a fully featured unit with a hydraulic hose- reel, electronic push-button controls, and a 5-channel remote control.”
“Instead of a traditional central bulkhead, a half-width partition allows both the jetter and camera system to be operated from the back while providing access to the rear workstation. The 400L water tank is positioned to distribute weight, with careful attention given to lining materials, storage, the inverter, and lighting. Despite the extensive equipment, the fully laden van weighs approximately 3250kg, showcasing a balance between functionality and adhering to the 3500kg weight limit.”
Adam Copeland, Operations Manager at Vantage emphasises these points further, “Here at Vantage, we work with a wide
range of vehicle specifications including drainage vehicles. The space we have on site is ample and allows us to keep the conversion on site at all times during production, it makes understanding the job at hand much easier when everything is to hand. The key things on building draining vehicles are keeping the overall weight capacity low but ensuring that the customer can use the vehicle for all needs of the business.”
Purchasing vans is a huge capital cost for any drainage business. It’s important to consider three main areas when managing your fleet or vehicle needs. With a variety of finance products out there, choosing the right one for your current and future budget needs is important, and always get advice from reliable finance professionals
beforehand. Do your research and find the right type of van for the nature of the business and think about whether you want to use a company to help you set up your van in one place, reducing hassle and time. Finally, plan ahead and make sure you don’t just think about what vans you’re bringing in, but when to sell them on to maximise the benefit for you. By following this advice, you’ll lay the groundwork for an effective vehicle management strategy that not only boosts your bottom line but also ensures a top- notch service for your customers.
