Over the last year, we have engaged with many of Colliers International’s Corporate Solutions clients, representing a range of industry sectors. As ever in life, the insights and experiences gained over this period have been incredibly useful.
What is clear is that all companies, regardless of sector or specialism, face a diverse range of challenges and opportunities. For example, businesses in ‘consolidation mode’ are focused on cost management – through reduction of rooftops or moving to lower cost locations.
Conversely, businesses in ‘growth mode’ tend to have a more stable operation/footprint in place and are more focused on improving productivity, choosing the right buildings/locations are a key part of this, either through redesign of existing assets or moving to better suited workplaces. All this can lead to change in direction for things such as workplace investment priorities, service centralisation agendas or branding ideas, but what remains as a consistent focus is the talent – your people are ultimately your products.
