The Leeds BTR market has been talked about with many large schemes proposed over the last few years, but there appears to have been relatively little evidence of transactions and buildings under construction. Over the last 18 months however, there have been a number of high profile deals reported and publicised including Legal and General funding Mustard Wharf (250 apartments), Grainger at the former Yorkshire Post (242 apartments), Aberdeen funding 84 Kirkstall Road (108 apartments) and Dandara starting on site at Sweet Street (744 apartments). These schemes are located on the edge of the city centre and other large proposed schemes are similarly placed; The Brewery site (up to 1,100 apartments) by Vastint, Quarry Hill / SOYO (515 apartments) by Caddick / Moda, Globe Road (756

apartments) by Get Living and Holbeck South Bank (up to 750 new homes) by CEG. The principle growth areas lie in a belt across the area south of the city centre, but are all within a ten minute walk of the centre. There are a number of large student schemes under development and proposed to the north of the city centre, many within the Arena area. Other areas that are emerging are around Regent Street to the north east of the city and Kirkstall Road will see further development through City Reach.
