Red Wing lands
in Carnaby (again) Having opened its first UK store on Newburgh Street in the heart of London’s Carnaby Village, Red Wing Shoes have now taken a second store on the street for its women’s range.
Sasha Riddle comments: “The letting is a great endorsement of Newburgh Street which is also home to other iconic US heritage brands like Shinola and Filson.”

Aldi sees 10% rent rise at review
The rent on a 21,500 sq ft Aldi supermarket in London’s South Norwood has increased by 10% following settlement of a March 2018 rent review.
Aldi occupy the former Co-Op store in Station Road on a lease expiring in 2033 and saw its annual rent increase from £353,000 (£16.35 per sq ft) to £389,000 pa (£18 per sq ft) on review.
Colin Moran of Colliers’ UK Retail Lease Advisory team – who advised landlord, Atlantic Cruiser, on the review – comments: “The size and location of this store enabled us to negotiate a substantial uplift in the rent.
“It is a further indication that supermarkets which are in a ‘sweet spot’ in terms of scale and catchment area can still command progressive rents.”
