Irrigation advancement & innovation recognized
Each year, the Irrigation Association and Irrigation Foundation present awards recognizing outstanding industry innovation, achievement and education. Read about these award recipients who will be honored during the general session held on Dec. 6 during the 2018 Irrigation Show and Education Conference in Long Beach, California.
This award honors a career demonstrating outstanding contributions to the advancement of the irrigation industry.
Jim Klauzer is a sales agronomist focusing on selling and designing efficient drip irrigation systems. During his 18 years at Clearwater Supply, he has been instrumental in driving a significant increase in the use of efficient irrigation technology in both the Treasure Valley and the entire Pacific Northwest region of the United States. When he joined the company in 2000, approximately 3 percent of the onion fields in the Treasure Valley were under drip irrigation; today, drip irrigation accounts for approximately 75 percent in the area.

This award honors an outstanding instructor impacting the future of the industry.
Franklin Gaudi is a Cal Poly alumnus and a project manager for the Irrigation Training and Research Center. He teaches courses in irrigation water management, on-farm irrigation systems, landscape irrigation, AutoCAD and careers in agriculture. He also teaches many of the irrigation short courses offered in the summer through the ITRC. Through research and projects at the ITRC, he is able to bring experience with real-world problems and solutions into the classroom.
