THE DESIGN Lay your centre arm on the drawing you made earlier to check the size is correct. Following the curve on your drawing carefully bend your wire around. When you reach the start of the next arm, using fl at nose pliers make a 90 degree bend and start on your second arm. When you have made two more arms, repeat on the other side of the central arm. Eventually you will have fi ve arms in a circular shape.

WORK Make sure that the inner circle fi ts nicely inside the outer circle. Leave the tails on the outer circle, these will be cut off later but it is better to do this when the two circles are bound together.

10: WRAPPING


THE WIRE Cut a length of 28 gauge wire (this converts to approximately 0.32mm wire). Leaving a short tail to hold as an anchor, begin wrapping around the diamond part of the arm. On the inner circle arm it is open at the top. You can choose whether to bind across the top to close the gap or start a new on the other side.
