NEW WELDING WIRE EXTENDS EQUIPMENT LIFE T


he EnDOtec 6070N alloy provides best-in-class resistance to erosion, abrasion


and corrosion, especially at extremely high temperatures. However, until March 2023, its use was restricted as it was only available as a stick electrode for manual metal arc (MMA) welding. Enrique Matey, Global Product Manager Welding Consumables at Castolin Eutectic, explains to Welding World how a new


flux-cored welding wire has opened up the alloy for much wider adoption. Industrial processing often


requires components to minimise wear despite a steady flow of highly abrasive and corrosive materials. Wearfacing coatings made from extremely hard and tough materials keep components in service for longer. One example is an alloy called EnDOtec 6070N, that is competitive with high-performance nano-alloys
