PROMOTING SUCCESS W
ilkinson Star is delighted to announce that Ged Leonard has been promoted to the
position of National Sales Manager, responsible for national account sales growth and support. He joined Wilkinson Star from 3M in September 2023, and his sales expertise, industry and customer knowledge has seen him quickly become a valuable and respected member of the sales team. Having studied engineering after leaving
school, he has always had a keen interest in how and why things are made, the world of engineering in a nutshell. After a short spell in the RAF, Ged Leonard joined BOC and worked his way up from Gas & Gear Assistant to Manager and then to become the equipment specialist for the company. “My thirst for knowledge quickly had me looking in a different direction and I moved into the Customer Development Executive role looking after such accounts JCB and CAT as well as higher educational colleges in the North and Scotland. This eventually led me
to Account Management,” he recalls. “These roles fuelled my passion
for being in front of end-users and an opportunity presented itself within the industry with 3M looking after the Speedglas range of Welding Helmet Systems. This gave me the chance to be involved with major projects within the industry and establish myself as a Welding RPE (respiratory protective equipment) specialist. After a brief break working for the North American- based Respiratory Protection brand covering the whole of Europe I found myself back at 3M doing what I love. “After 7 years, I was approached by Dr
John Wilkinson to join the great team here at Wilkinson Star to help support and push the business forward, and it offers me the chance to develop and achieve the goals I have set myself.” Speaking about Wilkinson Star he
adds: “Since day one the welcome and support from everyone has been nothing but exceptional, there is a common goal within the whole team pulling together
