inside out
f someone had told you at the beginning of 2020 that there would be a global pandemic causing the deaths of more than 2 million people world-
wide and more than 400,000 in the United States, your ministry would need to be re-created, in-person worship would be postponed for months, businesses would be shut down, students would attend school online, Zoom would become the place to meet and worship, politics would divide and polarize our country in an election year, and the video of George Floyd’s murder would go viral, beginning a wave of protests and waking many to the truth of racism in this country … what would you have thought?
Tese past 10 months have taken us on a journey
unlike any other we have ever experienced. We’ve lost loved ones and friends to COVID-19, completely shiſted how we work and lead worship, tried to stay safe and well by social distancing, all while not being in community with our various tribes. We’ve learned how to upload huge files and create the best lighting for worship recordings and other online platforms. We’ve led Zoom meetings with a toddler on hip and helped children with virtual school in between mak- ing calls and responding to email while working from home. And the singing? What happened to the singing?
