Enjoy delicious, alcohol-free cocktails this summer
It’s been a long day and you’re in the garden, enjoying a beautiful summer evening. You want to unwind and let go of the day’s affairs and this is when you may consider having a tipple, but know that you probably shouldn’t. World-renowned
neuroscientist,
Professor David Nutt (the former UK ‘drug tzar’) and his team have designed a boozeless botanical drink – and it’s a great alcohol-free tipple. Since his university days, Professor Nutt has worked to discover an alter- native to alcohol, and in the early 2000s the UK government tasked him with providing a 25-year vision for the future of alcohol, where he first introduced the idea.
David’s team developed SENTIA
as an all-natural, alcohol-free GABA spirit with a proprietary blend of plant ingredients that are known to activate our natural GABA. SENTIA is a proof of concept to demonstrate how a GABAergic drink can mimic the
relaxing function of alcohol.
SENTIA’s Red and Black GABA Spirits comprise plant ingredients that produce a milder effect compared to Alcarelle. SENTIA is an all-natural, alco-
hol-free GABA spirit. Te proprietary blend of plant ingredients activates our natural GABA mimicking the relaxing function of alcohol, which targets this same GABA system.

the brand aims to provide value- added agricultural products and assist in the relief of the hurri- cane-devastated local
popula-
tion. Additionally, it hopes to raise international public consciousness of breadfruit and its many culi- nary uses by donating portions of proceeds to groups such as Te Breadfruit Institute and Trees Tat Feed Foundation.
What are the benefits of breadfruit? • Long-living breadfruit trees can be a better environmental option than crops such as corn as it’s seen to be relatively climate change-resistant.
• Breadfruit can improve food secu- rity for the islanders, with one tree able to feed a family of four for life.
Mutiny Island Vodka was created by award-winning chef Todd Manley in the beautiful Caribbean island of St Croix. Given his passion for using only the finest, most authentic ingredients, Todd chose to design the vodka around breadfruit, a plant local to the island and one with a rich heritage. Te story of the versatile bread-
fruit begins in Tahiti before trav- elling across
the Caribbean, and
includes a chapter on the famous mutiny on the Bounty. It became
a staple part of the diet for popu- lations in St Croix and across the Caribbean. Drawing on this humble fruit,
Mutiny Island Vodka unleashes an unforgettable taste that’s distinc- tive, clear and clean. It’s a true island vodka with a luxurious
smooth-
ness that transports you to the trade winds and blue waters of its island home. Mutiny Island Vodka was created
in 2017, a year of major hurricanes in the area. By using local breadfruit,
• It’s seen to be disaster-resilient. • Super-versatile breadfruit can be fried, roasted or boiled, and used in everything from desserts to meat-substitute dishes.
• Breadfruit products, such as gluten- free breadfruit flour, could offer the island new economic opportu- nities in the form of exports.
• And of course, breadfruit makes the finest, silky smooth Mutiny Island Vodka®.
In April 2022, Mutiny Island Vodka was awarded a Gold Medal for the Vodka Class in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC). Te award recognises ‘exceptional
spirits that set the standard in their categories’. Te SFWSC takes place annually
and is among the most prestigious spirits
competitions. With more
than 3,500 entries in the Vodka Class, Mutiny Island Vodka proved to be top quality among established spirits industry experts. In a blind taste test by more than
30 judges, Mutiny Island Vodka impressed with notes of island flora

silky mouth-feel. “Breadfruit, with rich history and
legacy, provided us with the type of vodka that we
knew would be true to the island,” says Todd. “Handcrafted Mutiny Island Vodka retains the character of the island and the breadfruit from which it is distilled.” Mutiny Island Vodka is now avail-
