Making two cities slicker
London and Paris have entered into a
new business and tourism partnership in a bid to boost international visitors, as well as encourage further business ties between the two capitals. T e agreement will combine the resources
of
VisitLondon.com and
ParisInfo.com in promoting tourist attractions and special off ers across the two cities. T is will include preferential rates on the Eurostar train service and discounts on accommodation. T e new campaign, which is set to
launch next year, will focus on the key driving forces of tourism, such as the rich culture and heritage of the two cities. T e tourism industry in both London and Paris collectively supports 1.2 million jobs. “Paris and London share values as well as a common ambition,” Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris, said. “We’re developing new exchanges and projects. T ese initiatives create jobs, economic activity and growth. It’s a very positive dynamic that Brexit won’t change.” Her counterpart, Mayor of London, Sadiq
Khan, agreed: “London and Paris are two of the greatest cities in the world; we’ve got so much to gain from joining forces. Our great friends in Paris and across the European continent are well aware that working together is in our mutual interest.”
