Departures Hotel reviews

Zoëtry Montego Bay Jamaica Montego Bay, Jamaica

Zoëtry is a boutique adult-only hotel

near Sangster International Airport, with 49 suites. Smiley staff are quick to help, while the Endless Privileges experience means I’m entitled to a personal butler, worldwide calls, all-inclusive dining and drinking, wi-fi and one complimentary 20-minute spa treatment — mine was a meltingly good back massage. My Junior Suite Swim Out Ocean View

features a king-size bed, dark wood furnishings, tropical paintings and Bulgari toiletries next to a cavernous tub. An infinity pool is a luxurious addition, though shared with other suites. Organic and seasonal meals are available at

a choice of three restaurants. A highlight is the beachside Jerk Hut, which serves up cold Red Stripes and spicy jerk chicken. Tis is my kind of all-inclusive; one with a holistic approach that refreshingly doesn’t cater to partygoers. Stephanie Cavagnaro

Radisson Blu Oslo Airport Oslo, Norway

It’s a relief that the Oslo Gardermoen

Airport branch of Radisson Blu is so close to the airport terminal itself — when I arrive, it’s freezing cold and snowing. A covered walkway from the terminal entrance leads me straight to the hotel reception. It’s immediately welcoming, with a stylish and intimate vibe. When I head to my room (one of 500 rooms and suites) I’m struck by the bright chrome and charcoal tones splashed with citrus green. I love the sleek, modern desk and equally contemporary lamps. Te bathroom is fresh and clean, and before I nod off, the speedy wi-fi enables me check in for my flight the next morning. Toot’s restaurant serves a mixture of dishes for dinner, with Scandinavian classics and international fare, and the bar is a classy spot for a pre- or post-dinner tipple. Breakfast is a continental spread, ranging from plenty of fruit and nuts to Norwegian cold meats and cheeses. For travelers needing to be close to the airport, the Radisson is a safe — and comfortable — bet. Connor McGovern ▶
