Ellery Beach House STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN

Ellery Beach House is situated in the beautiful Stockholm archipelago on an island called Lidingö. A welcoming beach house with its own private jetty, this is a spot where serenity meets adventure. The hotel celebrates the glamorous 1960s and ’70s and takes inspiration from Palm Springs. It’s all in the details, with wooden floors, luxurious velvet sofas, and hues of pink, bronze, blue and beige. The retro-inspired hotel features Coco Beach

Club, with indoor and outdoor pools, two saunas, fireplaces, delicious cocktails and cabanas. It’s a playful environment where guests come to relax, dance, mingle and take in the panoramic ocean view. There are also some wonderful treatments to indulge in such as scrubs, facials and massages. However, Ellery isn’t just about relaxing by the

pool, as there are plenty of things to do for guests looking to work up a sweat (and not just in the sauna). There are running tracks for beginners, as well as fitness fanatics, boule and padel courts, pool tables, shuffleboard and much more. Anyone visiting Ellery should be prepared for a culinary journey. At Palmer’s Restaurant guests can

indulge in Mediterranean cuisine inspired by the Greek Islands, buzzing food markets in Tel Aviv and Lebanese Meze culture. Olive oil, delicacies from the sea, coriander, nuts, hummus, crispy greens and marinated olives are all on the menu. At restaurant Coco, treat yourself to ceviche, the

barbecue flavours of Buenos Aires, the seafood of Lima and the spicy allure of Mexico. This is blended with the best of seasonal Scandinavian produce, and when it comes to drinks, the hotel takes its cues from the vibrant spirit of South and Central America. Ellery has 122 rooms, from the snug Petite Mini to

the crème de la crème De Luxe. There’s also a cosy bathrobe for your to borrow, and the slippers are to keep as a souvenir. The quaint island of Lidingö offers several other

attractions, such as Millesgården, which is the beautiful former home of famous sculptor Carl Milles, with its sculpture park, fountains, antique collection, art gallery, cafe and museum shop. For anyone craving a city vibe, Ellery is a 20-minute drive from Stockholm, with its museums, bars, restaurants and more.
