Tiamo SOUTH ANDROS ISLAND, THE BAHAMAS

Tiamo is a five-star resort in the Bahamas, located on South Andros Island, one of the best dive sites in the world. The hotel is situated in what looks and feels like Eden, with a bubbling creek, a private beach with astonishing sunsets and abundant lush vegetation, which all creates a powerful image of paradise. The resort’s 11 villas are accessible only by boat or seaplane, and are perfect spots to just breathe, sit back on a deckchair and relax in the shade of palm trees, while admiring views of the pristine beach. Preserving the idyllic environment and maintaining sustainable practices are a priority at Tiamo Resorts. The villas are built in a traditional Bahamian style, making use of local and natural materials such as pine and coconut palm. The interiors are minimalist and elegant, with light-coloured hardwood floors and shades of blue and white that perfectly complement the landscape’s natural tones. Every Pool Villa has a private pool and terrace,

which are ideal spots to let your mind drift while looking out across the ocean. Honeymooners will

enjoy the more secluded Starlight Villa, which has direct access to a private beach, as well as a private heated swimming pool on a large deck. Cool Villas, meanwhile, provide the most faithful interpretation of Bahamian architecture and also have access to the private beach. Families — with children aged 12 and above

— will enjoy the Bird’s Nest Villa, a large house with three en-suite rooms, a beautiful pool and a sitting room overlooking the Caribbean. Tiamo is a watersports paradise, where guests

can set out in transparent canoes or sailing boats with a private captain who’ll show them around the coral reef. Or they can explore the underwater wonderland by scuba diving or snorkelling, in the hope of glimpsing an elusive sea turtle. Couples can enjoy a romantic boat ride to a private creek near the hotel where they can picnic and play Robinson Crusoe for a day. That’s not forgetting the local naturalist who’ll

take visitors on a tour of the island’s wilder areas, where they’ll likely spot some of San Andros’s 330 bird species, as well as iguanas and marine life.

Don’t miss Set off on a three-hour boat trip exploring mangroves that form the habitat of sharks, turtles, dolphins and even sawfish
