As the name suggests, surfing and yoga are the pillars of Sansara. That said, the experience extends far beyond that here. Located at the southernmost tip of Panamá, in the heart of Azuero Peninsula, one of the most uniquely diverse regions of the world due to its exposed coastline and lush tropical forests, there are no ticket offices, gated parks or line-ups in this small fishing and surfing community — for many locals, a horse is still the favoured mode of transport. There are nearly 200,000 acres of national park, hidden waterfalls and sea caves, and massive natural pools formed by volcanic rock, as well as world-class point, beach and reef-break waves. The resort grounds are built into nature, not
on it. A natural quebrada (freshwater spring) runs through the centre of the resort, accented by a wooden bridge that leads to an open-air, thatched roof Yoga Shala overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Pathways are anchored by tropical greens, flowers and palms. Hidden terraces and patios are abundant, providing the perfect space to sit quietly and listen to the singsong of hundreds of species of birds and the relaxing sound of waves from the Pacific Ocean lapping the beach.
