Estancia La Bandada SAN MIGUEL DEL MONTE, ARGENTINA

Enjoy the green and calming surroundings of the Argentinean countryside at Estancia La Bandada in San Miguel del Monte. Easy to get to, Estancia La Bandada is only 75 miles from Buenos Aires and 55 miles from the international airport. Travellers can enjoy the many delights of Buenos Aires — including eating Argentine asado, learning how traditional empanadas (meat pies) are made, walking, riding horses, admiring the skills of the horsemen in the drum races and drinking tea along with excellent pastries — before heading back to the peaceful countryside. As soon as guests pass through the gate, they’ll

begin to appreciate the fresh country air along with the sounds of birdsong and leaves gently rustling in the breeze. Crossing the pastures, guests can watch flocks of ducks flying across the sky from pond to pond, before enjoying a warm welcomed by the team in the main house, which is framed by a centennial grove. Estancia La Bandada and its rooms are named in honour of the variety of birds in the area. The colonial-style house is simple and elegant, with ample pleasant

spaces that invite rest and relaxation. With only five rooms and a maximum of 14 guests, visitors will feel at home. On hot days, take a refreshing dip in the large swimming pool. Additionally, there are a number of other activities to enjoy, including massages, horse-riding, biking and learning about the Argentine game of polo. Days in the countryside end perfectly with a bonfire while enjoying the colourful sunsets that are characteristic of the area. Estancia La Bandada is committed to the

environment. A few feet from the house, there is a large orchard surrounded by fruit trees and beyond, a plantation of native Argentine species carefully selected to ensure biodiversity, good pollination and environmental health. Fresh eggs from happy hens, honey and goat’s milk are also produced on-site. These organic and natural ingredients are delivered directly to the table at Estancia La Bandada. Be sure to visit the recently opened Alaverde restaurant, which serves authentic, country-style Argentine cuisine based on traditional recipes.

DON’T MISS Take a polo lesson with a professional instructor in one of the most popular regions for the sport in Argentina
