Casa9 MEXICO CITY, MEXICO
Dating back to 1910, Casa9 Condesa was once an old Mexican casona (large house) before it became a four-bed luxury hotel. Reimagined by architects Rafael Rivera and Javier Claveri, its interiors combine authentic Mexican style with a modern twist, creating an elegant yet cosy environment. Located in Mexico City, the hotel is surrounded
by a vibrant cultural atmosphere, giving ample opportunity to explore and enjoy. Situated right in the heart of the city’s culinary, art and fashion scenes, guests will gain insights into what makes Mexico City one of the world’ most fascinating cities. Found in the centre of the bustling city, Casa9
Condesa is one of the first hotels in the area to encompass both luxury hotel and bed and breakfast vibes, creating an unmatched, friendly service for guests, which allows staff to anticipate every visitor’s individual needs. The property also offers a number of immersive
experiences that showcase some of the best of what the city has to offer. These include authentic Mexican cooking classes that start with a visit to the local markets before ending up in the kitchen of
chef Luis Alfonso Garduño. There are also mezcal tastings, mixology masterclasses and walking tours of the city. For 2024, Casa9 has developed a new concept
that aims to disrupt the traditional definitions of hospitality once again, with Casa9 Zócalo. The new hotel is also located in the heart of Mexico City, in the oldest inhabited family home in the captial. Originally built in 1640, the hotel’s setting allows visitors to engage in Mexican culture and learn all about the country’s history. Built on the former site of the ceremonial
temple for the Mexica deity Tezcatlipoca, the hotel underwent an extensive conservation process that restored almost all of its original structure. Teams of stonemasons, carpenters and blacksmiths participated in the restoration, guided by a team of masters and restorers whose names are etched on the central patio’s stone. It’s one of the few buildings from the 17th century that’s kept a lot of its previous features, making it an unforgettable place for travellers to base themselves before becoming immersed in Mexican culture.
