Fort Morgan Cay PORT ROYAL, ROATAN, HONDURAS
Fort Morgan Cay is a 40-acre private island located off the coast of Roatan, the largest of the Honduran Bay Islands. The island is right on the breathtaking Mesoamerican reef — the world’s second largest barrier reef — and forms part of the protected Roatan Marine Park, home to sea turtles, stingrays, nurse sharks and numerous species of fish. Roatan is known for its world-class snorkelling and scuba diving, as well as three white-sand beaches, the ruins of 280-year-old Fort George, stunning mangroves and a whole host of amenities. Fort Morgan Cay hosts groups of 10 to 20 guests
for an all-inclusive private island experience. Only one group at a time is hosted, meaning that the group has exclusive and private use of the entire island during their stay. Guests stay in the seven- bedroom lodge and each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and daily maid service. Guests also have access to all facilities including the bar and pool, 24 hours a day. All food is prepared by a local chef with the freshest local ingredients and is served family-style.
Guests celebrating a special occasion will receive
assistance in planning their private beach party, with the option of adding additional services like a personalised cake, floral arrangements and sand sculpture as well as a fire dancer show, fireworks display, bartender and photographer. Fort Morgan Cay has a freshwater swimming
pool and numerous recreational activities are available to guests such as a daily snorkelling trip by boat, scuba diving and kiteboarding, as well as scuba diving certification and kiteboarding lessons for beginners. Recreational equipment such as snorkel gear, kayaks, paddleboards, beach toys, fishing gear, pool floats, and games such as badminton, volleyball, cornhole and bocce ball are available for guests to use, too. The team at the lodge can arrange activities such
as a catamaran tour, a local village tour by boat, sunset cruises, fishing excursions, a snorkelling trip to Pigeon Cay and a Roatan tour to experience attractions such as monkeys, sloths and zip-lining. A massage therapist can also be scheduled, with treatments taking place on the serene seaside palapa.
