In the late summer of 2011, the roads of southwest UK were teeming with traffi c and in a mere fi ve weeks, there were six serious incidents, three of which were fatal, all within a 20-mile radius of charity founder Andy Ar- scott’s home. Over the subsequent months, it be-
came painfully clear that riders and their families face a severe lack of support. Slow government aid, mini- mal medical assistance and legal pro- cesses adding to the stress. One rider, who had no life insurance, left his family in dire straits, struggling to cover funeral costs, rent and dealing with frozen bank accounts, all while mourning their loss.
