December of last year,

KJUS, a Ski and golf apparel store opened in Augustinergasse in autumn of last year, offering various premium outdoor clothing including ski and golf gear located in the city’s old town. Birkenstock have recently opened in Zurich’s old town at Storchengasse on 24th April 2026 offering ‘journey

bringing nature inside inspired by the Swiss alpine landscapes. Tying in with the natural focus of its brand, Birkenstock offer a range of premium sandals, clogs and shoes. Apple is planning to open its largest store in Europe in Zurich, projected to open by summer 2027. It
is to open in
Lintheschergasse following its aim to secure a significantly larger space. Together, these new openings highlight Zurich’s commitment to development through quality and steadiness.

WHEN thinking of any where in the world you could go, would Zurich be on your mind? Probably not - but for Northern Irish travellers who love anything from luxury shopping sprees to visiting lakes and hiking mountains, this is definitely a destination to consider. Refined but relaxed. .Zurich is widely known for its luxury shopping offerings - almost like London minus the hustle and bustle. Visit well- known designer outlets, along with soft luxury shopping areas such as boutiques and markets where you can experience Swiss delicacies - this is a must as it’s a well known region for cheeses and chocolates. Markets run from the summer right into winter, so you can enjoy visiting all year round. Zurich is also known for its pristine streets and breathtaking settings as well as its focus on sustainability across the region. To travel to Zurich from Northern Ireland it is fairly straightforward.
Flights are available from Belfast International Airport to Zurich Airport from just three hours with one-stop routes from carriers such as easyJet. Flights operate all year round making it the perfect destination for any time of year. With weather similar to the UK, Zurich has highs of 25 degrees in the summer months and lows of 5 degrees in the
winter.

Zurich has some of the cleanest lakes in the world due to its commitment to sustainability and cleanliness across the province.
