June 2026 Oasis Travel: Embracing the Digital Age
LOCAL travel agency Oasis Travel has enjoyed a £100,000 investment in digital technology, having developed the Oasis Travel app back in April. NI Travel News caught up with Managing Director Scott McCabe to find out why the local agency believed now was the best time to invest.
“We’ve been advancing our technologies for some time.” He explained. “Last year, we overhauled our quote system, and now have a slick quoting platform that brings future holidays to life. The feedback from customers has been incredible and this gave us the confidence to further invest in digital
transformation throughout the business.” The newly developed app saw 18 months of production before it launched to the public. “Customer expectations have evolved significantly, particularly over the past few years. People want convenience, speed and flexibility, but they also want confidence and expert guidance, especially when it comes to travel – and this is where the Oasis Travel app delivers.” He continued, “We felt this was the right moment to invest further in technology that enhances customer choice and is user-friendly, especially when on the move. Travel arrangements can change, we all know this, and our app gives people live information regardless of where they are in the world – keeping them updated on any changes whilst they’re travelling.” Giving customers instant access to all essential travel information in one place, the new app promises to ensure Oasis’ customers can feel safe in the knowledge that their documents are easy to hand. “The feedback has been very positive.” Explained McCabe. “Customers appreciate having all of their travel arrangements loaded into the Oasis Travel app. We’ve seen strong take-up from clients, who still have the choice of using the app or receiving printed travel arrangements.”
Scott expressed the business’ surprise at the efficiency of the technology’s updates, with flight changes virtually appearing within customers’
app travel details
instantly. “It’s the simplicity of having everything on one app, with live updates, that’s making travel easier for our clients - and that’s exactly why we invested in this technology.” He says.
Oasis
T ravel currently operates eight branches across Northern Ireland and offers a
range of
specialist s e r v i c e s , including Cruise Beyond,
its
portfolio luxury travel division, and the recently launched Honeymoon Boutique. With an ever-changing industry, and one that is increasing daily with its technological advances, what can customers expect in the near future from Oasis Travel with its digital investment? Scott explained how the travel agency is “100% committed to innovation” but still wants to keep its face- to-face service at the heart of all it does. “What sets us apart is how well travelled all of the team at Oasis are. “In every branch, the likelihood is that one of the team will have visited the latest properties based in our most popular destinations. For more far-flung destinations, we will have someone within the business who will know the area well. It’s this level of extensive knowledge, gained only through first-hand insights, that delivers a level of trust.” With its customers at its forefront, McCabe explained that
“Innovative is key to our business, and it’s excellent for
streamlining services and creating enhanced customer communications before and during travel. However, for any technology we introduce, it will be driven by one key question: does this genuinely improve the customer experience? If the answer is yes, we move forward.” And a final word of advice for those worried about the introduction of digital investment, Scott assures customers to “not to see technology as a replacement for people,” but to view it as a tool that makes the overall experience smoother and more reassuring. “At Oasis Travel, technology sits alongside our expert staff – it doesn’t replace them – and for all customers, we can still provide print outs of travel arrangements and boarding passes, all housed within the travel wallets that they are familiar with. It’s very important to us that as we progress, none of our customers feel alienated.”
