The sector’s growth exceeded overall global economic growth by almost half, highlighting it’s role as a primary factor in global expansion. Popular US Airline Launches Tiered Fare Structure for Passengers
UNITED has announced a new tiered fare structure for customers with the introduction three options.
The airline will offer three fare options in premium cabins for long-haul international, transcontinental U.S. and select Hawaii flights: base – a new option, standard and flexible, that will join the airline’s existing basic, standard and flexible fares in economy.
The front cabin will also
be branded United Polaris on select transcontinental U.S.
and select longer
Hawaii flights, and customers who buy the standard or flexible fares in United Polaris on these flights will have access to the United Polaris lounge. Customers who purchase the base option for United Polaris will still have access to the United Club.
“These new tiered
options give customers more choice and make it easier to find a fare that includes the benefits they want most – whether that’s a great value, added perks, or maximum flexibility,” said Andrew Nocella, United’s Chief Commercial Officer.
For domestic and short-
haul international flights and travel in United Economy cabins on long- haul international flights, there’s
no change to
what’s included in the basic, standard and flexible categories – they will be displayed on United’s shopping pages in a new way. In premium cabins on long-haul international and transcontinental U.S. flights and flights between the
airline’s hubs in
Newark, Washington D.C. and Chicago and Hawaii, the base category will offer customers the lowest
price point, the standard category will offer benefits such as free seat selection, additional checked bags and the ability to make changes, and tickets in the flexible category are fully refundable and offer all the benefits included in standard tickets.
Emirates Completes Over 40 Travel Rehearsals for Autistic Youth Globally
EMIRATES has successfully arranged bespoke Emirates Travel Rehearsals across more than 40 cities in the past year, including Dublin.
With more than 250 families in attendance, Emirates Travel Rehearsals are designed to support children and young adults with autism, allowing them to practice the journey through the airport to prepare for real flights. After initial Emirates Travel Rehearsals in Dubai resulted in positive feedback from families, schools and autism organisations; the Emirates Office of Accessibility & Inclusion formulated the travel rehearsal into an official programme, to be rolled out across its global network.
More than 35,000 Emirates staff have been trained to support customers with autism and can help facilitate travel, and Travel Rehearsals.
Emirates Travel Rehearsals are a purposeful community collaboration and learning exercise arranged by Emirates, with the support of international airport teams, Border Control and Security teams, and schools and centres for autism based all around the world.
The travel rehearsals including practicing the actions of checking in, dropping baggage, going through immigration and security, and experiencing the hustle and bustle of retail and dining areas. While familiarising themselves with the airport, participants are also issued mock boarding passes and given the chance to meet the many uniformed staff encountered along the way. In some airports, Emirates’ teams managed to arrange access to real aircraft for the children and young adults.

With 1.54 billion international overnight arrivals this year — equivalent to 4.2 million people travelling every day. Travel & Tourism continues to connect the world at an extraordinary pace, surpassing both last year’s levels and pre-pandemic benchmarks. “This is a defining moment.
