CONTEMPORARY COOL Cape Town’s De Waterkant has a new
art gallery on the scene – No 5 on Hudson. Owner Sandy de Bruin explains that one of the gallery’s focus areas is the empowerment and upliftment of local female artists. “South African artists are incredibly talented and inspirational. They often stand out on the international stage, as evidenced by the enormous number of art pieces sold overseas,” she says. “I want visitors to No 5 on Hudson to be embraced in an experience that heightens the visual senses and provides an appreciation for art in a space contemplated by soul and design.” The gallery’s open from 10am- 5pm, Mondays to Fridays; 9am-1pm on Saturdays. HAUTE CABRIÈRE POP-UP DINNERS
BLOOD ORANGE CRUSH Malfy Con Arancia (from R370) is a
zesty variant of gin that’s bursting with botanical flavour. We love the bright
pop of colour from the Sicilian blood orange peels, which are steeped in alcohol and pressed in a basket press. This infusion is then blended with
Italian juniper, grapefruit peel, Amalfi Coast lemon peel, coriander, cassia
bark, orris root and angelica root before distillation. Malfy Con Arancia has a
