Introducing the ICI Academy by Joseph E. Fritz, Executive Director
am very pleased to announce that the ICI has developed a new platform in support of our Members’ training needs, the ICI Academy.
I This
platform has three distinct aspects to it, eLearning, Committee Support and the Knowledge Center. The eLearning module supports
both self-training programs, as well as live interactive virtual training. To date, we have developed one self-training program, Process Control Certified Surveyor training.
The Education
Committee is working feverishly to make good use of this new tool, as it is currently reviewing and updating existing training, as well as developing new material. Currently, only the
Technical
Committee is making use of the platform for Committee Support. Intern Funding Requests, Collaboration Funding Requests and Ask the Expert inquiries and responses are all conducted using

the ICI Academy platform. The third aspect, and the one
to which I would like to draw your attention, is the Knowledge Center. The Knowledge Center is a repository for documents, audio recordings and video recordings that are of value to professionals in the foundry industry. Currently, we have uploaded all of the videos from the 68th Technical Conference, and have given all full paid delegates access to that material. Access to the recordings of the
technical paper presentations is not restricted to event attendees.
These
videos are available on demand, and may be subscribed to on an event-by- event basis. In the near future, I hope to have materials from the ICI’s Technical and Business Conferences dating back to 2014 available on the platform. If you attended the 68th Technical Conference as a delegate in November 2021 and were not contacted with
your login credentials, please contact us immediately.
If you were not an
attendee, but wish to subscribe for online access, you may do so on our website under the publications tab, or simply contact the ICI directly.
Once
your credentials are established, use of the site is relatively straight forward. For your convenience, I offer you this brief tutorial:
Credentials When your ICI Academy account is established, you will receive an email with your credentials and a link to the platform. Log in as you would any online service. Once you have logged in, click on the “Setting” gear (see Arrow #1) in the upper right-hand corner of the screen and change your password. After changing your password, return to the home screen, which by default will put you on the “Training”
