Inside ICI
Casting Contest: Your Vote Counts!
your vote counts! Votes will be tallied via the WHOVA app throughout the duration of this year's 71st Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition. In the past, the contest judging process was held by the ICI's Technical Committee but now the process is being handed over to the event attendees.
O
nce again, this year at the Investment Casting Institute's 23rd Annual Casting Contest,
Every participant using the WHOVA
app will receive notification via email or through the event app signaling the ballot box is open. Nominated castings will be on display on the Exhibition floor throughout the event where voters can see the castings and review the technical specifications in order to cast their ballot. The winning casting does not have to be the most complex part or the
largest part but the ICI looks for parts that demonstrate the best use of the investment casting process and/or solves customers problems. Some questions you can ask yourself when determining which part you will enter are:
Does it
replace an assembly of several parts? Has it reduced cost? Has it improved product reliability and performance? How does the customer benefit from the part and what makes it unique? Those are some of the things you should think about as you select your winner. The Investment Casting Institute's Annual Casting Contest acknowledges ideal examples of the investment casting process, as well as castings that provide solutions to customer problems. Casting Contest winners benefit from their entries being published in INCAST Magazine, as well as industry trade magazines. This free publicity serves both the participating company, as well as promoting the benefits and capabilities of the investment casting process to the manufacturing industry worldwide. We invite you to enter your best parts. Contest entries may be download on the Investment Casting Institute website under the Honorees tab.
The Casting Contest was first
introduced at the ICI's 50th Technical Conference and Exhibition in 2002 as one of the many ways the Investment Casting Institute helps to promote and grow the industry. For more information, please call 201-569-5870. Completed entries may be sent to Erin Almaleh at ealmaleh@
