1. Automated note taking allows brainstorms to go full-speed ahead. Have you ever been the person respon- sible for taking notes during a meeting, and, during the meeting, you constantly find yourself chasing whatever the last participant just said? At the end of a meeting like this, you probably could barely remember the content of the meeting, let alone the details. Automated note taking and accu- rate meeting transcripts are some of the simplest ways AI can help free up meeting attendees to actually focus on the discussion taking place. Fur- thermore, transcripts can be searched for important keywords and ideas – allowing participants to fully absorb each detail and idea after the meeting has concluded. Giving everyone at the meeting the ability to participate without the burden of constant note taking fosters a lively and uninhibited discussion – encouraging a seamless flow of ideas.

Five Ways AI Can Add Creativity to Meetings

EDUARDO COCOZZA

Every salesperson on Earth knows how it feels when a prospect or customer blows off a scheduled meeting. Worse yet is when it happens because the prospect simply forgot or suddenly got called away. But, even when the meeting does take place, wouldn’t it be great if the mundane details could be managed so the sales rep could concentrate on making the sale?

Well, when harnessed effectively, artificial intelligence (AI) offers great potential for facilitating better – and even more creative – collaboration. As AI becomes more ingrained in workplace collaboration technology, reps and managers will be able to

leave such tasks as note taking and scheduling and instead concentrate on the real challenges of solving problems for customers. Here are five ways AI could potentially make more creative meetings possible.

2. AI-powered action items and agenda updates keep you from get- ting bogged down with remember- ing specific details after the meet- ing has ended.

AI technology is founded in rules-based responses to decisions, meaning it can be taught to recognize particular key- words. Organizers can plug in impor- tant words and AI can recognize those words and react – equipping AI to take action on items, a more complex task than just providing a transcript of what occurred during a meeting. On top of taking action on items, AI can help record deadlines and – if programmed to do so – send out reminders as deadlines approach. AI can record the most important parts of a meeting and share them with attendees after the fact, ensuring that none of the actions, intentions, or necessary follow-ups are forgotten.

3. Automated capture of nonverbal cues can let you know when you’re onto a good idea.
