The idea of onboarding is not just to impart the how-tos, but also to help everyone understand and implement the OSG philosophy. “We want to be an extension of our clients’ business,” Philipps says. The goal is to be consultative, to be an advisor who understands clients’ brands and puts their problems first. We want to deeply understand our clients’ business so we can suggest what is best and not just fill an order, but create a robust solution that creates an ROI for our clients and creates a personalized, engaging experience for their clients.”


Given that Flanigan and Philipps are both relatively new hires to OSG, they have fresh perspectives on onboarding and unequivocally feel this is a good time for commercial professionals to join the company. With its strategic acquisitions and organic growth, being the newcomer doesn’t mean being the odd man out. “Everyone is new right now,” Philipps adds. “You won’t have to be the new person in a stale organization. New people are bringing new ideas and new processes. Even people who have been here for a while are feeling the buzz. Everything feels new.” 
