ocean-going ship in Asia French river cruise line CroisiEurope is launching an ocean-going ship in Asia next month. The 120-passenger La Belle des Oceans will sail nine 11-day Malaysia and Thailand cruises between Singapore and Phuket, starting October 17. The vessel, which sailed as Silversea Cruises’ Silver Discoverer until June, has 60 ocean-front suites – including nine with balconies – plus a swimming pool, two lounge bars, a restaurant and an outside grill. The ship will leave Singapore in January 2020 and head to its summer homeport of Quebec, Canada. From June to October 2020, it will operate 11-day round-trip cruises from Quebec on the Saint Lawrence River and Lake Ontario, visiting Montreal, Toronto and Niagara-on-the-Lake.

SPA TREATMENTS: A Nordic detox, Baltic hot and cold massage, and salt steam room await passengers in the spa on P&O Cruises’ new ship, Iona, while TRX Suspension Training will help passengers stay in shape. The vessel, which launches in May, will spend its maiden season cruising from Southampton to Norway.
EX-UK CRUISES: Marella Cruises’ Marella Explorer 2 will make its ex-UK debut next summer with one and two-week voyages from Newcastle and Southampton to the Baltic, Norway and Iceland. Marella Explorer, meanwhile, will sail a new Aegean Explorer cruise and Marella Discovery a Mediterranean Secrets voyage.
Celestyal Cruises is returning to Istanbul for the first time since 2016 next month on new seven- night Eclectic Aegean voyages. The cruises, on Celestyal Crystal, also visit the Greek island of Volos for excursions to the mountains of Meteora. Prices start at £829, including selected drinks, tips, a Bosphorus cruise and Spice Market tour in Istanbul, and trips to Oia in Santorini and Knossos in Crete.
