The best of your letters, comments and social media this week Greybull: Investor’s record is a drain on taxpayers

I’m not surprised to see Greybull back in the news with the collapse of British Steel. They specialise in buying companies on the cheap and, when things go wrong, expect taxpayers to bail them out while they walk away with millions. When Monarch Airlines went into administration in 2017, Greybull left taxpayers with a bill of some £60 million to repatriate 110,000 passengers. This followed their purchase (with OpCapita) of retailer Comet. A year later, it collapsed leaving taxpayers to fund redundancy payments of £23 million and a £26 million tax bill. We can only but hope they don’t put in a bid for Thomas Cook! Hugh Walton Travel Weekly would welcome a response from Greybull Capital

Julie Franklin @jfranklin_skye (Hotelplan) Found by my mum – a picture of me (second left) in a 1988 edition of @travelweekly! I’d won an Inghams holiday to Saalbach. Remember it so well! Who would have thought 31 years later I would be working for them! And yes, it was 80s hair! Also spotted @LisaHillyard002 @TCworldwide

Andy Freeth @Andy_Freeth (If Only) Dear airlines. Let’s rewind to when bags went in the hold. The faff involved with everyone trying to squash bags in overhead lockers is painful for staff, awkward for customers and on this occasion has delayed us. Anyone agree?

Unijet: Shame so many small firms were swallowed up

This Week In...: 1994: Unijet Group chairman Chris Parker denied rumours of a sale this week. With Airtours apparently on the search for another company to buy, Unijet was rumoured to be on its hit list. I used to love Unijet holidays. They had some really nice apartment complexes. Such a shame so many smaller companies were swallowed up by the bigger ones. Michelle Wilson
