Carnival rollercoaster Bolt will have cameras and sound effects


Carnival Cruise Line’s soon-to- launch rollercoaster will feature cameras along the track and inside the motorcycle-inspired electric vehicles to capture passengers’ reactions on the 40mph ride. Bolt, which the line claims


is the first rollercoaster at sea, is the centrepiece of the open-air recreation area on 5,200-passenger Mardi Gras, due in August 2020. Each vehicle will have a


speedometer and speakers that produce sound effects along the 800ft track. The top speed is 40mph, but passengers choose how fast they go. Cameras will capture passengers as they take in 360-degree views as high as 187ft above the sea. carnival.com

Exodus introduces Edits breaks range for time-pressed tourists

Exodus Travels has launched a collection aimed at solo travellers in their 30s and 40s who prefer to take shorter and more condensed trips abroad. Exodus Edits has 22 itineraries, spanning 18


countries and ranging from four to 13 days. The adventure operator also highlights how many


days off work the traveller will need, to help them maximise their annual leave. A survey of more than 1,000 people who travel


annually found that 60% think it is important to travel with those of a similar age, while 70% would prefer to take shorter trips. Speaking to Travel Weekly at the launch event,
