The River Cruise Line unveils Arena’s maiden programme
Te River Cruise Line will operate three new itineraries in its maiden programme for charter ship Arena. Te 180-passenger vessel has
been chartered from German line 1AVista Reisen by the four-star- plus operator for four years and will launch in April 2020. Prices for the 10-day Treasures
along the Rhine & Moselle sailing, departing on May 9, 2020, from Amsterdam to Cologne, lead in at £1,149. Te six-day Historic Cities
of the Danube itinerary covers Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava. Prices start from £695. Te 13-day Journey along
the Danube to the Rhine from Budapest leads in at £1,495. Ports of call include Bratislava, Slovakia; and Vienna, Melk, Linz
and Salzburg, all Austria. Arena, which was known as
Flamenco to German customers, has a push-style engine, which means it can cruise overnight with minimal engine noise. Main deck Superior and
upper deck Superior cabins will have hotel-style beds, while the remaining main deck cabins will have one fixed and one folding bed to give extra space in the day.

MSC Seashore redesign will add
200 cabins and bigger Yacht Club MSC Cruises has revealed incoming ship MSC Seashore will be 16 metres longer after its designs were reworked. The 339-metre-long ship, due to enter service in June 2021, will now have 200 extra cabins, a larger MSC Yacht Club and an additional double deck lounge. Two or three cabins can be connected to create a “cluster cabin” for families, the line added.

Viking to return to Istanbul with Med and Adriatic cruises

Viking Cruises has five new ocean itineraries in the Adriatic and the Mediterranean for 2021. Te sailings, from eight days to 29 days, include a
return to Istanbul for the first time since 2016. Te Turkish city features on the line’s new eight-day
Ancient Mediterranean Treasures itinerary, which runs from April to October 2021 and leads in at £2,840. It departs Athens on April 25, 2021, and calls at Rhodes, Greece; and Ephesus, Çanakkale, for excursions to the archaeological site of Troy, and Istanbul, all in Turkey. Te sailing includes overnight stays in Athens and Istanbul. Te remaining four itineraries offer longer versions
of the cruise. Te 15-day Ancient Adriatic Treasures sailing, from Venice to Istanbul, on April 18, 2021, leads in at £5,690. Additional ports of call include Split and Dubrovnik, Croatia; Kotor, Montenegro; and Corfu, Greece. Te other itineraries are the 15-day Ancient Mediterranean Antiquities, 22-day Iconic Mediterranean Treasures and 29-day Mediterranean’s Iconic Shores.
