Club Med to open Les Arcs Panorama for next winter

Club Med has announced plans to open a new ski resort in France next winter and appointed a new head of trade.

will open for winter 2018-19 in the Les Arcs 1600 ski station. It will offer direct access to 425km of slopes in the Paradiski domain, the world’s fifth-largest ski area, featuring both pine forest runs and high-altitude slopes. The resort will have 410 rooms,


24 luxury suites, a spa with an indoor and outdoor pool, gym, three restaurants and three bars, with a total of 1,050 beds open in winter and summer. The ski-in ski-out resort will


offer childcare for all children aged four months and above, ski and snowboard lessons, and a kids’ restaurant. Club Med is also introducing a


new family restaurant concept, Bread & Co, where children will become ‘little chefs’ and invite their parents to have dinner. Last year, Club Med opened


its Grand Massif Samoëns four- Trident-rated resort in the Alps.


Kids go free at Hard Rock Hotels booked through Thomas Cook


Children can stay for free at selected Hard Rock Hotels in 2018 when booked with Thomas Cook. Youngsters up to the age of 12


are included in the all-inclusive offer when sharing a room with two paying adults. The offer means a family of two


adults and two children can stay for seven nights at the five-star Hard Rock Riviera Maya Hacienda in Mexico for rates from £4,236. This includes up to $1,800


resort credit to spend on activities, spa, excursions and golf, as well as return flights from Gatwick with Thomas Cook Airlines. The offer at the Hard Rock

Increase in Club Med’s trade sales last year


Meanwhile, Armand Guillemot has been promoted from head of sales for meetings and events to a wider, newly created role as head of sales, trade and Mice across the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia. He takes on the role vacated by Yann Richard, the former agency


UK and Ireland sales manager, who left Club Med at the end of 2017. In his former role, Guillemot doubled the size of Club Med’s Mice business in the last 12 months, and has previously worked for World Wide Events and Great Hotels of the World. He will now lead Club Med’s


growth in indirect sales, which were up 35% last year – a figure the resort operator has attributed to the rise in travel agents making group leisure bookings. Bookings for winter 2018-19
