Over half a million Shine Reward points awarded

It’s been another exciting month at P&O Cruises with the announcement of second new ship launching in 2022. I do hope January was successful for you and your business. Since my last column we have officially

launched our Shine Rewards Club and almost 10,000 of you have registered to earn points on every Select Price booking. We’ve also had our very first 5,000 points winners, congratulations to Leanne Derbyshire from Althams Travel and Charlie Varrick from Iglu Cruise. Leanne said: “It’s an absolute shock – you never think you’re going to win these things but I’m absolutely over the moon and I can’t wait to start planning my P&O Cruises holiday!” Homeworker Charlie said: “I’m so happy about my win and can’t wait to use the points for a Selfridges shopping spree – it will give me the excuse to treat myself to things I would never usually buy and some presents!” It’s not just Leanne and Charlie who are celebrating as

well over half a million points were awarded in January, so many of you are enjoying spending your Shine Rewards Club points on everything from cinema tickets to the latest technology. Don’t forget you will continue earn points on every Select Price booking! In other news, we will soon be releasing our 2018 ship visit programme, rebranded to ‘One Day Holidays’. They will give you the opportunity to experience our ships through the eyes of our guests. You will have more time on board and more opportunities get a taste of a P&O Cruises holiday. Look out for more information on #OneDayHolidays coming soon! Last month I acknowledged the challenges in our

contact centre and I am pleased to say we have seen significant improvements in our call wait times in January. I am also delighted to announce further improvements in the form of a dedicated agent support team. It will be 100% dedicated to you, ensuring they are in tune with the needs our travel agent partners. As always, we are incredibly grateful for your support. Should you wish to share any feedback, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Shearings Holidays has brought back a dedicated Grand Tourer brochure for 2018-19 after a year following feedback from the trade.

The programme features double the number of tours, with 21 of the 41 new for this year. Of these, 15 tours are in the UK, 23 are in Europe and three are river cruises. New trips range from a Land’s

End to John O’Groats tour to a Greece island-hopping itinerary. Last year, Grand Tourer trips

were featured in the operator’s destination brochures rather than in a separate brochure. Managing director Jane Atkins

said: “We have produced a standalone Grand Tourer brochure this year after feedback from agents and in the knowledge that this is a fast-growing market. “They told us they wanted a

dedicated premium brochure that was rackable – so we have listened. This brochure represents our signature tours.” The Grand Tourer programme
