Intrepid Travel has introduced six tours for lone parents and their children as it looks to fill a gap in the market.

The operator claims this type of

tour is “long overdue” in the UK, which has nearly two million single parents, and says the industry has failed to cater for “today’s family”. Sixteen per cent of Intrepid’s

family bookings were for single parents and their children in the year to last September, and it has also reported an increase in enquiries from solo parents.
