CroisiEurope plans to host 150 agents on fams this year
Harry Kemble
CroisiEurope plans to almost double the number of agent places on fam trips this year as it looks to build on last year’s 20% rise in trade bookings. The French line aims to host
150 UK agents – up from 80 last year – on ship visits. It also plans to increase its presence at agent roadshows and to offer an online training programme in the second half of 2020.
55%Share of CroisiEurope’s bookings made by the trade
Fam trips will include at least
one night on a CroisiEurope ship. Agents who book 10 passengers
before January 31 will qualify for a complimentary cabin on a five-day cruise on the Seine, the Garonne, the Danube or in Venice.
John Fair, who became the line’s
first UK sales director in 2018, said a decision would be made after the wave booking period about whether to recruit on-the-road sales staff. He said: “I’m confident that by
increasing the focus on our trade activity further and building on the great progress made over the last two years, this will have a huge impact on our 2020 sales and beyond. “We have grown significantly.
We had a 20% rise in trade bookings last year and 15% the year before.”

Trade sales currently make up
55% of CroisiEurope’s business. “Trade is now bigger than our
direct business,” said Fair. “We do sell direct with price
parity but our focus is the trade. There has been a swing to trade sales over the last few years and that is where we want to be.” Fair is looking to seal commercial
terms with The Advantage Travel Partnership and Hays Travel Independence Group this year.
