Cunard doubles 2020 Alaska cruises

Cunard will more than double its summer Alaska programme in 2020 after returning to the region this year following a 20-year break.
The line will offer 10 round-trip sailings from Vancouver, ranging from nine to 12 nights. Each Alaska voyage will visit destinations along the northwest acific coast of lasa and ritish Columbia, including Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan and Sitka. More than 120 excursions are
on offer across the programme, including cruising the narrow

waterways of the Inside Passage, the Hubbard Glacier and Sawyer laciers tin fjords, and Tracy rm and ndicott rm fjords. A nine-night Alaska sailing, departing Vancouver on August 11,
2020, calls at Juneau, Tracy Arm and Skagway in the US, and Prince Rupert and Victoria in Canada, and leads in at £2,999. Cunard president Simon
Palethorpe said: “We have had an incredible response to Cunard reinstating voyages to the beautiful Alaska frontier and are delighted to be offering more than double the number of Cunard sailings for 2020. “Guests will sail on the newly
refurbished Queen Elizabeth, visiting Alaskan towns and spending longer time in port to enjoy these reathtaing destinations.” Cunard will continue its partnership with Rocky
Mountaineer, offering pre and post-cruise tours on the railroad. Tours include either three
or five nights accommodation and two full days on board the train, which travels through the Canadian Rockies. In between its Alaskan
itineraries, Queen Elizabeth will sail to San Francisco for a three-day trip including an overnight stay on Independence Day on July 4. A 16-night itinerary sails from
San Francisco back to Vancouver from July 5-21. Alaskan voyages can also be combined with a 29-night Cunard sailing from Vancouver to Tokyo,
departing on August 29.
