Government issues no-deal Brexit passport advice
The government has urged travel professionals to remind customers that they will need at least six months on their passports to travel to the EU after Brexit in a no-deal scenario. Currently, UK citizens can travel to EU destinations with passports valid for the length of their stay.
Consultation starts into Heathrow’s third runway
A major new public consultation into Heathrow’s third runway plans started this week. The Airspace and Future Operations consultation runs until March 4 and covers issues including flight paths, runway usage and noise management.
Stansted’s new terminal set to open in autumn
Work on Stansted’s new £150 million arrivals terminal is scheduled to be completed by the autumn. The airport this week appointed Mace as the main contractor to carry out the work, which starts this spring and is the flagship project in a £600 million transformation.
Thai resorts begin clean-up after tropical storm Pabuk
Resorts in southern Thailand this week began the clean-up operation after the Pabuk storm, which led to six deaths. Tourist hotspots such as Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao were reportedly free of casualties.
Clia appoints Goldstein as chairman for second time
Clia has appointed Royal Caribbean Cruises vice-president Adam Goldstein as its global chairman for the second time. He replaced Carnival Corporation’s president Arnold Donald in the role on January 1. Goldstein was Clia president in 2015 and 2016.
Cruise Village targets P&O sales with revamped site

An agency hopes to increase its sales of P&O Cruises by 20% after revamping its dedicated website for the line.
The Cruise Village has enhanced its
podeals.com site, relaunched last week, to work on mobiles and believes this will help generate more enquiries. The website was launched 10
years ago but has been revamped by technology provider Traveltek. Agents at The Cruise Village, in
Blackpool, receive enquiries from potential customers via the site and call them back. The website is not currently bookable. Nuttall, who bought the domain name
podeals.com in 2003, said: “We want more people to talk to us about P&O Cruises. More people are searching on their phones, so we want to ensure we are maximising our P&O Cruises business.” Nuttall will review the site in six months after monitoring its performance.
