The best of your letters, comments and social media this week Atol: FCA should run fund
Comment: Atol needs to upgrade Atol is not fit for purpose. When an Atol-covered company fails, the CAA simply directs the consumer to their credit card supplier. APC payments are funding civil servants’ bloated salaries and bulging pension pots. The FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) should take full control and regulate the risk and protection by charging a levy on all travel-related products so there is an even playing field [for all travel suppliers]. This levy should be used to create a ringfenced fund which credit card suppliers can dip into to refund consumers in a seamless fashion. Andri
Fam: Thank you Travelsphere for amazing trip to Canada
I’d like to say a huge thank you to Travelsphere for hosting a wonderful educational to the Canadian Rockies in May. We visited Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise and Calgary, all in five nights. My highlights were a fantastic helicopter trip over Mount Assiniboine glacier and seeing grizzly and black bears in their natural habitat – a truly amazing experience. Back in the office I can now chat to our customers and confidently sell Canada with Travelsphere. This was undoubtedly the best educational I have experienced in years.
