2020 PREVIEW Starquality

Nominations are under way, but what can you expect to see on the night?

Every year we pull out all the stops to make the Globe Travel Awards an incredible show – and that starts with the surprise celebrity host. Everyone from Dame Edna to

David Walliams, Jack Whitehall to James Corden, Jimmy Carr to Michael McIntyre has shared the stage with Travel Weekly editor- in-chief Lucy Huxley over recent years, adding an extra dose of stardust to the ceremony. This

year,

Scottish-American actor, presenter and I’m a Celebrity star John Barrowman stepped up to the job, while 2018 saw Harry Hill cracking up the audience with his travel industry gags. It’s not just about the host, though, celebrity singers and other special guest performers all add to the magic, while live music gets guests bopping into the early hours on the dance floor. Lemar, Fleur East, Louisa Johnson and Strictly Come Dancing stars have all entertained in the past, while this year, Peter Andre took us all back to the ‘90s with Mysterious Girl. Other ceremonies have seen world-class beatboxers, celebrity chefs, impressive magic acts, eclectic dance troupes and plenty more turn the hall into an epic party – all with the type of energy and enthusiasm that makes the event, like the travel industry itself, the vibrant, fun-loving extravaganza it is. Who’ll be turning up the volume this year? You’ll have to wait until the night to find out, as it’s under wraps for now. All we can tell you is that our events team is working hard to ensure it’s going to be bigger and better than ever before.
