2020 PREVIEW Under the

It’s time to nominate your favourite travel brands for the biggest awards in the business

Clear your diaries, dust off your dancing shoes and get ready to dine with the doyens of the travel industry, because the Globe Travel Awards are fast approaching. Taking place on January 16, 2020, in the

Great Room at Grosvenor House hotel on London’s Park Lane, the ceremony will feature all the glamour, live music and celebrity prowess Globes guests have come to expect as we celebrate the leading lights of the industry. But it’s not just about the night itself. What makes these awards special is the fact they’re nominated and voted for solely by you, our agent readers, which means we need your nominations to make them happen.

It’s up to you to decide which suppliers make

the shortlist, and then who goes home with the trophy at the end of the night. It could be a tour operator changing the game

with its product offering, a hotel brand going out of its way to strengthen trade relations, an airline pushing the boundaries with its service levels or a cruise line going above and beyond with its agent training. Whatever the reason, this is the chance to have your say. It’s not just about the big names. There are

three special awards to recognise those who have truly inspired, innovated and changed the industry for the better, and now’s the time to nominate these too – turn to page 55 to find out more. Nominating is quick and simple – log on to globetravelawards.co.uk and follow the link to ‘nominate now’. You can submit nominations for as many categories as you like. We’ll reveal the shortlisted nominees in our special Globes voting supplement, coming out on October

31 – at which point you can vote for your winner. Nominations close on September 27, so get your submissions in now, and prepare for the most exciting night in the travel calendar.

The Globe Travel Awards is the highlight of the year for all of us at T

ravel Weekly.

It gives us a chance to come together and celebrate the brands and individuals who are really making a difference in the industry, and I always enjoy catching up with travel friends old and new. It’s a great night with an amazing atmosphere,

helped by the celebrity host, special guest performers and a string of other surprises. But more than that, it’s the biggest and most prestigious event of its kind. Suppliers tell us time and time again how

important these awards are to them, and that’s because they’re voted for by you – agents who know the industry inside out. They couldn’t happen without your support, so please do visit our Globes website to nominate the suppliers you think deserve to win, then find out who takes home the coveted trophies on January 16, 2020. I hope to see you there!
