Runway: Ruling may have
unintended consequences Story: Court rules third runway unlawful Stephen Eccles: People will just fly to CDG or AMS from their local airport and transfer to long-haul. Two take-offs instead of one – oops, more emissions, not less; another potential unintended consequence. Roger Hawkeye Beaver: No, they won’t. Most people still want direct flights rather than losing their luggage in Amsterdam.

Story: ITB Berlin called off due to coronavirus While l understand the decision to pull this event would not have been taken lightly, with input from many experts, it will have extremely serious repercussions for the whole industry. The best of your letters, comments and social media this week Heathrow: Third runway is crucial to UK’s prosperity
Story: Government urged to ensure Heathrow expansion goes ahead The third runway is essential for the UK’s prosperity. Perhaps this is the time to look again at the Heathrow Hub proposal, which would extend an existing runway, rather than build a third. The capacity increase would be less but so too would the costs and disruption. The visionary solution is to have both the runway and stringent sustainability targets but not so stringent that economic progress is stifled. David Tarsh
Dom Carrick @ifonly_domc If Only Great to see the new branch of Butterfly Travel in Warminster. The pizza and cider around the corner was pretty decent too!
