Triton Systems waterproofs ICF sub-structure for listed farmhouse extension
Products from the range of Triton Systems have been used to waterproof a semi-buried single storey extension to an old listed farmhouse near Uckfi eld in Essex, with the specialist sub-contractor involved being a long-term customer of the manufacturer for its work across the South-East. The current contract, which is being project managed by the property owner, features the use of Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF) to construct the 30 metre long curving walls which have then been protected by Archer Specialist Treatments, using Triton’s EX100 membrane and Double Drain barrier to direct groundwater into a land drain around the base. Triton fi llet was also used at the fl oor/wall junction to prevent moisture penetrating the joint. As a long-established manufacturer with a very successful track record, Triton Systems offers a wide range of well proven products to cover damp-proofi ng problems, timber protection, structural repairs, condensation control and the penetration of gases such as radon and methane. Its technical advisory service is also able to offer advice on specifi c project requirements as well as guidance on relevant product compliances.

PR.indd 1 Do you know what happens when a plenum is added to a louvre?
Do you know what happens when a plenum is added to a louvre? Renson UK does, thanks to having carried out tests at Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA). “A plenum is a specially designed chamber that is connected to the back of the louvre to serve as a distribution of airfl ow, and this addition can have several benefi ts,” explains National Sales Manager Martin Daniels. “Firstly, it helps to evenly distribute incoming air across the louvre’s surface, preventing localised pressure drops or airfl ow imbalances, ensuring a more uniform distribution of air. Secondly, by incorporating a plenum, the air entering the louvre can be distributed more evenly, reducing the pressure drop across the louvre face and thereby improving the overall performance of the ventilation system and reducing the energy required for air movement. And thirdly, the plenum box can act as an additional noise attenuator, helping to reduce noise generated by airfl ow passing through the louvre, resulting in a quieter ventilation system.” Thanks to over 50 years of designing, developing and manufacturing high-performance ventilation products, Renson UK are the experts.
