Suspended deck systems are the unseen hero of many successful paving/decking schemes. For hidden beneath ultra fl at porcelain tiles or composite boards, for example, is a carefully planned substructure of plastic or metal pedestals supporting the surface fi nish. Not only are suspended decks quick and clean to install (no sand or mortar required), they even-out height differences across site, make fl ush fi tting with doors etc a breeze, deliver built-in drainage and provide a void for services.
