Festive Christmas tree days Looking forward to the festive season, every weekend in

December we celebrate the season with complimentary (and much praised) mulled wine, mulled apple juice, festive nibbles & chatting and the all important ‘choosing of the tree’. We have pot grown as well as freshly cut, local trees in 4 types and many sizes, wreaths, garlands and decorations. We look forward to helping you find and dress your perfect tree…..

In the garden, the main themes, as temperatures fall and rainfall increases, are ‘planting, tidying and protecting.’

✿Protect more tender plants ‘in situ’ with horticultural fleece or move to a greenhouse or sheltered spot.

✿Aſter leaf fall, ‘bare root’ hedging and trees and fruit trees can be planted; this is a good value solution if you are planting in large numbers.

✿Put out food and water for the birds as temperatures fall

✿Plant winter bedding and spring flowering bulbs

✿Keep clearing fallen leaves from ponds, lawns and beds. Te leaves can be used to make leaf mould to improve your soil in future years.

✿ Gather in the last of your harvest (apples, pears and nuts) ✿Enjoy time planning for next years’ growing season.

Down at the Mill ...

If you fancy a walk while here, the surrounding Avon Valley and woodland are magical on a frosty autumn morning. Bring your four legged best friend.

The most important tasks are to enjoy the Autumn colours, frosty foliage and earthy winter scents -why not take a walk up the old ‘Primrose Line’ taking time out at Avon Mill for a warming hot chocolate and slice of cake?
