6 June D-Day Commemorative Service Kingswear Church 7pm. To mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day this special service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving will be led by Revd Canon Chris Malkinson, with the local Scouts and Royal Britannia Naval College represented. There will be refreshments afterwards and a small exhibition of photos and eye witness accounts of the DDay preparation on the River Dart. At 9.15pm a beacon will be lit in the Church Memorial Garden at the same time as many others light up across the UK.
