eight years as a Queen’ s Honorary Physician holding short private audiences with senior Royals and provid- ing medical cover at investitures, garden parties and memorably the London Olympics opening reception party at Buckingham Palace in 2012. Now in his mid-60s Dr Mozumder has no intention


of retiring. Along with his RNLI work he contin- ues teaching student doctors and is also the Master Apothecary at the London-based Worshipful Society of Apothecaries, which teaches doctors in a range of specialist subjects and whose charitable role supports medical students in need. Closer to home, Dr Mozumder is a trustee of the


Dartington-based Landworks charity which supports prisoners back into employment and the community. He retired to Dartmouth five years ago with Jane,


whose family hails from the area, and spends his free time reading, playing tennis and exploring the River Dart in his day boat. “We love living in Dartmouth and having a great


social life and getting involved locally. And the kids all love coming here,” he said.•
