It has been a big week for Julia Donaldson: not only has she risen to the top of the Pre-school chart with Hare’s New Dress, she and illustrator Axel Scheffler also took home the Children’s Illustrated Book of the Year Nibbie at The British Book Awards 2025

It has been eight years since the first Morrigan Crow title was published and a five-year gap since the last instalment, but 3,435 eager fans of Townsend’s series have finally gotten their hands on the fourth volume, Silverborn. The long wait has not turned fans off the series as that number is a 13.9% increase compared with the first week of Hollowpox in October 2020. In total, the Morrigan Crow series has sold 162,417 copies across all editions, delivering just over £1m.
